Large-scale Russian Strikes Eliminate Power In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under increased attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Several individuals were hurt while local people in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and dealt with disruption to water systems, per reports from city officials.

At the same time, a minor was killed in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified strikes on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has called for "concrete actions" from international partners to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, the EU and the G7 - in delivering protection systems and enforcing penalties," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty missiles attacked the country's power systems, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were working to fix the damage.

A series of attacks damaged power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, according to municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the urban area endured heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A young boy lost their life and three other people were hurt.

The assaults come after evenings of bombing campaigns in the region, parts of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The entire country is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to detect.

Government officials told journalists that Moscow was deliberately attempting to damage the country's energy grid, with strikes already disrupting energy systems.

He said energy workers and authorities were preparing for more assaults.
